We are proud to announce the Rotterdam Photo 2027 Selection Committee. The selection process for Rotterdam Photo consists of three rounds of evaluation. In each round, members of the selection committee independently review submissions and select entries to proceed to the next stage. Projects and images are evaluated based on creativity, photographic quality, and the effectiveness with which they engage with the festival theme. Selected participants and winners will be announced on the Rotterdam Photo website and through the festival’s communication channels.
Interdisciplinary Visual Artist, Photographer & Filmmaker
Jaasir Linger (Zoetermeer, 1991) is an interdisciplinary visual artist, photographer and filmmaker with Surinamese roots, based in Rotterdam. His practice explores his Surinamese heritage, the traditional Afro-Surinamese Winti religion, and Suriname’s shared history with the Netherlands. He translates his research into installation art and other interdisciplinary forms.

Rebecca Kailola-Simons (Finland, 1981) is a photographic artist, educator and editor based in the Netherlands. Her artistic practice explores the relationship between memory, history and constructed narratives through photography, video and installation.
