Rebecca Kailola-Simons
Photographic Artist, Educator & Editor
Rebecca Kailola-Simons (Finland, 1981) is a photographic artist, educator and editor based in the Netherlands. Her artistic practice explores the relationship between memory, history and constructed narratives through photography, video and installation.
Alongside her artistic practice, Rebecca teaches at Willem de Kooning Academy in Rotterdam, where she is co-course leader of the Photography Department. Previously, she worked as Creative Director at Fotomat, Image Editor at de Volkskrant, and Senior Producer at World Press Photo, where she was responsible for exhibitions, publications and educational programmes.
Rebecca regularly works as a portfolio reviewer, nominator and jury member for international photography festivals and talent development programmes.
