Erik Vroons (b. 1976, The Netherlands) is a freelance writer, editor and curator in the realm of creative and journalistic photography. For many years, he’s been active as Editor in Chief/Editor-at-large for GUP Magazine and he was also involved with its associated talent platforms, New Dutch and Fresh Eyes.
Ongoing, he collaborates with OVER Journal as co-editor and furthermore guides various individual photography talents from all over the world in the process of their autonomous practice, operating as a ‘jack of all trades’ with specializations in editorial coaching and essays/reviews/grant writing, be it for publications or otherwise. Regarding screening- and jury processes in recent years he has experiences with organizations such as World Press Photo, Lensculture, Canon, Rotterdam Photo Festival, Fotofestiwal Lodz, Boutographies, Preus Museum a.o.
